Guest Talk: Francesco Puppini — "In Problems We Trust: Why Long Projects Get Rewarded"

Francesco has worked in data and business intelligence for over 20 years across Europe. He co-wrote a well-known book on data systems with expert Bill Inmon. He believes working with data should be simple — like shopping online — not complicated and academic.

In this talk, Francesco talks about something strange that happens at work: a project that finishes on time and on budget should be a good thing. But often, people don't really want that. Why? Because if a project is easy and smooth, it doesn't make anyone look important. But if a project is messy and takes a long time to fix, the person "solving" it looks essential. Pedro explains how this happens, why it's a problem, and how companies can fix it.
